Summer Clay Classes for Children and Teens
Summer Workshops Ages 6-10 July 13-16 and August 3-6, 10:00-11:30 $90.00 per session This summer program is an introduction of creating in clay to grow children's love of ceramics. Students will explore clay through pinching, coiling, slab building and mini-sculptures. All work will be glazed and fired in a kiln. Summer Workshops for Ages 11 - Teens July 6-10 and August 10-14, 10:00-12:00 $125.00 per session This summer enjoy a week of creating in clay! Explore terracotta and earthenware through pinching, coiling, and slab building to form vessels, sculpture and a lidded box. all work will be glazed and kiln fired. Preregister for all workshops on this website.
Ages 11 -Teen Clay Classes
Homeschoolers
Clay classes are offered to homeschool children during the week. These classes are formed to meet your group’s schedule. Please contact to find out more about having classes for your home school group. Six week sessions, fee: $120.00 per child.
After School Classes for 6-14 Year Olds
After school clay classes for 6-8 year olds are from 3:30-5:00 on Wednesdays and run in six-week sessions. Children will explore clay through theme based activities to learn skills and express themselves using clay. All clay work created will glazed and kiln fired. The six week session fee is $120.00.
Clay classes for 9-14 year olds are from 3:30 to 5:30 on Thursdays. There will be a planned project every week, but students have freedom to choose to work on their own projects if they so desire. Projects range between modeling sculpture and creating functional pottery such as bowls or mugs. Classes are two hour each week for a six week session; Fee: $150. Sliding scale available.
Adult Hand Building Workshops
Adult clay workshops are held on Saturday afternoons every two or three months. The workshops are project based and usually glazed before being fired in a kiln. All levels of participants from beginners to those more familiar with clay techniques are welcome. Those who are proficient in handbuilding are welcome to work more independently.
